The Implementation of SAMIH on ehCOS Starts in 31 Hospitals in the Mexico City Government Network
SAMIH’s implementation will last about two years.
ehCOS is complemented with the Oracle Master Patient Index and Oracle Health Sciences Information Manager tools.
SAMIH, supported by ehCOS technology solution, will be implemented over a two-year period and will include 490,520 hours of classroom and online training for the doctors, nurses and staff of the 31 hospitals.
In order to ensure the unique identification of patients and the interoperability of SAMIH with other clinical and administrative applications, both in the Department of Health and federal agencies, ehCOS is complemented with the Oracle Master Patient Index and Oracle Health Sciences Information Manager tools.
Telmex, for their part, will be responsible for process improvement, change management, quality assurance and information technology services.
The purpose of the ehCOS Electronic Health Record (EHR) is to reinforce the medical and health services management processes of medical care units using robust information technologies.
In this regard, the services provided by Telmex, with its cutting edge technological infrastructure, will be fundamental.
In addition to reinforcing the healthcare management processes, SAMIH will align with the best practices established by the General Health Council (GHC).
The many benefits and advantages for different target audiences; Patients, Health Professionals and Hospital Institutions, include:
- Resource efficiency and cost reduction.
- Increased security and unique patient identification.
- Reduced waiting times for beneficiaries and eligible dependents.
- Clinical data repository of patient health records: allergies, vaccines, family history, and toxic habits, with the subsequent improvement of the quality of health care services provided.
- Simplicity and agility in patient scheduling, avoiding unnecessary trips.
The contract was awarded to the consortium formed by Telmex and Everis through a bidding process in compliance with all the established guidelines. Of the four groups participating in the bidding process, they were the only ones to meet all the technical requirements demanded by the Government of the Federal District.
